UNIFORM - Update

We've had loads of requests for information on the Marine Academy Plymouth uniform - this is a message from Helen Mathieson, Principal Designate.

The Stakeholder Reference Group (the group of students, parents, teachers and governors tasked to represent views) has worked hard over the past weeks to gather together the opinions of all as to what kind of uniform the students wish to wear.

The results were forwarded to the Chair of that group and to me at the beginning of April and since that time, the Chair has worked hard to survey uniform suppliers as to what they can provide which fits the preferences of the students and at what price. She is also in discussion with supermarkets.

The Group will meet again on 4th May when the final decision as to which supplier should be awarded the contract will be taken and all parents will be informed.

I have had it confirmed to me that a uniform grant will be available to ALL parents.

As soon as the group has confirmed the uniform, there will be information on the website (with, I hope, some illustrations!) and also information regarding how the grant can be accessed.
